Apos is an Oakland, California company of enthusiasts and an authorized retailer of audiophile equipment, desk accessories, and high-end enthusiast products. They matter to this site for one specific reason: they are the ones bringing the OLKB Preonic back as the Rev 4, after Drop's store closed and left the Planck and Preonic without a retail channel. It is now open for pre-order, starting at $150 for the barebones kit.
Pre-Order the Preonic Rev 4Browse Apos KeyboardsOLKB Planck & PreonicStatus (August 14, 2026): The Preonic Rev 4 is open for pre-order. The waitlist is gone and the listing now has a buy button, a price, case colors, and keycap and switch options. Apos's note on the page reads, in full: "This is a pre-order and the expected ship date for the Preonic kits is end of November 2026." Nothing is in stock today.
A 5×12 ortholinear grid with a dedicated number row. Apos and OLKB rebuilt the PCB from scratch for this version: new 4-layer hot-swap PCB, anodized CNC aluminum case, per-key RGB plus underglow, up to ten encoder positions, and an RP2040 running QMK. Pre-order pricing runs from $150 for the kit on its own to $205 with keycaps and switches included.
Pre-Order at AposRead Our TakeCase color does not change the price. The "What's included" section still reads, in full, "Preonic Rev 4 keyboard kit," and Apos doesn't state a keycap profile or material. If you take the $150 barebones kit, this is full-height MX, so our ortholinear keycap list has sets that fit a 5×12 grid.

Apos 𝒙 is Apos's community design platform. Designers pitch ideas, community members sign up to audition prototypes, and Apos supplies the resources to get a design produced. The community is involved from concept through final tweaks.
The Preonic Rev 4 went through that process. It spent months as an interest check with a waitlist before moving to the pre-order it is now. Apos credits the PCBA and case design to Sebastiaan Swinkels.
About the Apos 𝒙 ProgramApos sells plenty of keyboards that have nothing to do with ortholinear. These two are the ones that overlap with what we cover.

Another Apos 𝒙 project: a compact 40% with twin encoder knobs and QMK/VIA support. Still an interest check with a waitlist and no price posted, which is where the Preonic Rev 4 sat before it opened for pre-order.

View at AposApos describes itself as "a company of enthusiasts on a mission to bridge the gap between designers, the community, and the world's best brands." They partner directly with the brands they carry, which is how they guarantee authenticity, and they back purchases with:
The warranty transfers with the keyboard rather than staying with whoever bought it, which is useful in a hobby where boards get resold constantly.
